Dear Mabrur,
Today
I’m writing to you with a shocked heart. Two days ago a terrible street
accident happened just before my eyes. You are one of my closest friends. I
cannot but share this pathetic incident with you.
On
that day, I was going to school at about 9 a.m. I, with some of the school
boys, was crossing Motijheel Road. All were crossing walking but a boy of about
10 lagged behind us and he tried to catch us running fast. He did not follow
that a speedy bus was coming from the left. The bus driver could not decide how
to save the boy. He braked hard but the bus skidded on the side of the road
hitting a rickshaw carrying two passengers. The boy had a narrow escape but the
rickshaw-passengers splashed about on the road. To our horror, we saw that they
were seriously injured and the road flooded with their blood. The people around
rushed to the spot. Some people took them to a nearby clinic by a van. There,
the doctor declared them dead.
That
day I could not go to school. That tragic scene affected me so terribly that I
could not eat anything two days. Probably the horrible memory will be chasing
me for a long time.
No
more today. Please pray for me so that I can overcome my mental problem soon.
Yours ever
Tawhid
